Location 5: Miller Arcade, Preston.

The Miller Arcade is a beautiful building and has quite a lot of unused shops, this is positive if we were able to access one of the shops, though I have hesitations as does this mean people walk past this beautiful building rather than frequenting it? If we were to access a shop I think it would work best as a public viewing over 2 days. After photograhing the unused shops we enquired in 2 other shops ( Utility and Voi jeans) about a contact. Voi Jeans gave us a telephone contact. We will follow this up asap, alongside another contact I am waitying for off a former fashion brand student.

  1. I love this building, i think that its main walkway is beautiful. there are a few shops that are vacant at the moment, and I feel that this would be a perfect location to house the exhibition. its location is in the centre of Preston, and therefore would attract passers-by as well as those we have invited.

  2. i really do think that this could be a lovely location for a show, if we were able to have this space. the split level nature of this location is very alluring, as even though this exhibition is a callborative effort, our works are very much different and individual, and so we could each have our own section of the space, also this would allow the people viewing the space to flow through the pieces of work giving a pleasing atmosphere and experience. also being located in the heart of the city center, it would be possible to have an opening to the general public during the day, with a later showing at either this location or another one. allowing more people to view our work.
